I too am doing the same trip this July – can’t wait! Doing it alone so am hoping for at least one other passenger. have books and DVDs and hope to get tan. I have one question, what was the food like? Hopefully good. It sounds very relaxing and so away from the stress of work, news and all the other things in life that annoy me. If I like this one, it will become my retirement plan to do as many as I can.

Hi there,

I’ve just found your website – I am booked on Basel for the round trip Brisbane – Sydney leaving on 3, 4 or 5 Jan 2010 (departure is a bit vague at present) our blog has given me a pretty good insight into life on board. Last August my partner and I visited Basel when she was in Brisbane and checked her out (before I paid my deposit!), escorted by Mr Singh the trainee officer, and I am really looking forward tothe trip.
I hope to be able to say nice things about the ship too.

Any storms? must be quite interesting to witness a big storm on a panamax and hope not too loose too many containers. Great pix as always bro.. keep up the good camera work and best of luck for the next leg of your amazing trip.
